About
I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro and moved to Destin, Florida, as a kid. I have also lived in New Haven, Miami, Philadelphia, Rio de Janeiro (again), London, Luxembourg, Destin (again), New York, and Austin.
I have been to 52 countries. My father was a Holocaust refugee. I majored in literature but then worked as a business executive for 20 years, a decision of tremendous practicality but questionable wisdom. I am a fitness nut who stops to smell the hedonistic flowers; I have 1,800 unique beers logged on Untappd and 800 unique wines logged on Vivino.
Many of my stories draw on Brazilian settings, family history, and personal anecdotes, but they are ultimately about larger questions: class, belonging, love, foreignness, luck, meaning, and the moral compromises ordinary people make.
My fiction has appeared in Expat Press, Half and One, Vine Leaves Literary Journal, Fiction on the Web, and Flash Fiction Magazine. My novella Interlagos received Honorable Mention from Glimmer Train. I attended the 2026 Disquiet International Literary Program in Lisbon and will be a 2027 resident at the Vermont Studio Center.
I’m based in Austin, Texas. When I'm not writing, I'm usually reading, traveling, or finding the next beer or wine for my list.
